THIS IS AN ACER BUERGERIANUM OR TRIDENT MAPLE. These are 1 year old bonsai starters. They will come shipped in 4 inch pots and may or may not have branching yet, as shown in the picture. We buy these for short internode spacing for good lower branch developement. They are considered as one of the most versitile of the maples for making most any kind of bonsai, from forests to root over rock, to mame, to large informal or formal uprights. Very fast growing in and out of a pot and very easy to take care of. The leaves reduce way down to little 1/2" leaves with usual bonsai techniques and methods. The three trees were used as an example and the price is for one. We had run out of these due to the drought last year. There was no availability of these at some point. We will have limited supplies this year. These are available again, but will not ship out until Monday June 30th, 2008.
