Dawn Redwood Bonsai Starter
THESE ARE METASEQUOIA GLYPTOSTROBOIDES OR DAWN REDWOOD BONSAI STARTERS. Ancient trees related to coastal redwood of California. Thought to be extinct, but discovered in China in 1947. These are 2 year old trees. A tree similar to a cypress tree, but with the ability to live in a little less wet environment. These are great for forest building or repotting up for greater growth or putting into the ground for even more rapid growth. We make twin trunk forests with these. We have some of these that went to 1" caliper in a little over one year in a 3 gallon pot. Price is for one tree. Note these are dormant/no leaves during the winter. Will be available May 25, 2011.
